Our History

Chris Sizer & Helen Cogill started in the transport industry in February 1999. Chris was an owner/operator for a few years. As the business grew, the fleet grew to meet customer demand, and the company Sizer & Cogill Bulk & General Carriers Pty Ltd was formed.

In the early years, the freight was predominantly GRAIN & FERTILIZERS and general freight based in Millmerran, South East Queensland.

In 2015 the company started working in Townsville, where we now have a depot servicing the mining industry and agricultural industry in Central & Northern Queensland.

2020 saw the company start SIZER & COGILL AG, which operates John Deere headers, tractors & chaser bins, this business services customers from New South Wales to the Gulf at present.

NQ Bulk Storage & Logistics (NQBSL) began in 2020 in close vicinity to the Port of Townsville to fill a gap in the market for bulk storage, packing into containers & bulk for export and domestic distribution. All things agricultural, from fertiliser, meal, grains, pulses, and logs/timber. Our business is growing with demand, from exporting 11,000 tonnes of grain/pulses to 38,000 in 3 years. We are expecting to export between 70,000 – 80,000 tonnes in 2024.

Mid 2023 we began construction of our own purpose-built facility at Cleveland Bay Industrial Park (CBIP) near the Port of Townsville. Our new facility currently offers an operational 50-meter weighbridge with a 200-tonne capacity accompanied by 10 silos, that have storage capacity of 3,400 tonne.

Under construction is a new warehouse storage shed and an 18,000 square meter temporary storage pad. Our storage facility complies with all Biosecurity requirements under our Approved Arrangement with the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry. With our team maintaining hygiene and cleanliness, our storage facilities are operated to the highest standards. We keep track of all consignment receivals and discharge via Grainstor, that is linked to the weighbridge.
